WDC is one of the largest most active Democratic clubs in Montgomery County, MD.  We are excited to have you share your time, talents and expertise with us. Take a look at our committees below and sign up today to get started.

  • Advocacy Committee

    Chair: Cynthia Rubenstein, Co-chairs: JoAnne Koravos and Diana Conway 


    If you want to:

    • Help pass state legislation that impacts women and their families in Maryland
    • Learn more about “how things work” in Annapolis
    • Meet interesting people who care about important issues
    • …..and much more, you’ll want to join the Advocacy Committee. 

    No special background or training is required. The Advocacy Committee determines legislative priorities, works in coalition with other groups to devise legislative strategy, maintains close relationships with the Montgomery County Legislative Delegation, mobilizes WDC members to support key bills, writes testimony in support of WDC priorities, and organizes an annual Advocacy Day in Annapolis.

  • Communications Committee

    If you have communications or marketing experience and are familiar with Squarespace (or similar website), MailChimp, MyWDC (NeonOne crm), Eventbrite, Zoom, G-Suite, Social Media, or graphics join us to:

    • Grow WDC’s online presence
    • Promote WDC events
    • Help our members stay connected
    • Increase volunteer engagement to elect Democrats up and down the ballot

  • Community Education Committee

    Organize community education programs based on current issues relevant to our membership and community.

    The Finance Committee has two critically important roles: 

    1. Track and report on our finances to Maryland, the District of Columbia and the IRS; and 
    2. Manage and monitor the Club’s financial and membership data and prepare monthly progress reports to the Board of Directors. If you…
